What they share is the engine: a turbocharged six-cylinder of 8.3 litres. Rated power across the range ran from 155 to 230 hp, with peak output reaching up to 246 or 264 hp at the top. The rising number therefore maps the power step, not the machine size — all models share the same base tractor.

In 1997 the 7100 range became the 7200, again with five models, the 7250 closing it at the top. The Pro designation marks the revised version. Later came the MX Magnum range, with which Case IH carried the visually ageing concept forward.

For the used market this means a 7120 and a 7220 are closely related but roughly a decade apart. Comparing two offers, do not look at the number alone but at year and version — the figure describes a position in the range, not the age of the machine.

With rated outputs of up to 296 kW, the most powerful Magnum models reached ISO 730 Category IV for the rear three-point hitch, while the smaller versions stayed within Category III; a standard dual-speed power take-off at 540 and 1,000 revolutions per minute served heavy tillage implements.
