Who runs SpecCodex
A technical register for machinery and engines — data, sources and services
What SpecCodex is
SpecCodex is a technical register for agricultural and construction machinery, commercial vehicles, forklifts and engines. For every model we collect documented figures — power, weight, dimensions, engine data — and organise them by manufacturer, series and model. The database currently holds 323 896 models from 13 948 manufacturers.
Where the data comes from
The data comes from manufacturer documents, official registers and trade archives — every model page names its sources. The descriptions are neither hand-written nor invented: they are built from the recorded figures. What is not in the data is not in the text either. Implausible values are discarded rather than estimated — which is why some models have no dimensions listed even though a source states something.
A model page only reaches the search engines once it has at least four verified figures and a complete description. The register grows in waves, not in leaps.
What we do
The register is free and nothing is sold on it — we have neither our own prices nor a warehouse. If you are looking for a particular machine or part, we ask the dealers who carry it and come back to you with price and lead time. That is all there is to it: we broker, we do not trade.
