Where the figures come from

Most of the data comes from official vehicle registers and government certification databases — the figures are recorded there at registration or certification, not in marketing material. Manufacturer documents, open technical databases and reference works complete the picture. Every model page names its sources with the date they were retrieved.

A model can have several sources, so the total exceeds the number of pages.

How we check the data

  • Implausible values are discarded rather than estimated. 308 values are currently held back for review and are not shown.
  • Every correction is logged with the old value, the new value and the reason — 119,012 so far.
  • Descriptions are built from the recorded figures. What is not in the data is not in the text.
  • If a photo shows a different model from the same series, the page says so explicitly.
  • If the technical data comes from a vehicle register rather than the manufacturer, the model page says so.

What reaches the search engines

A model page is only published once it has at least four documented figures and a complete description. Weaker pages stay reachable but are not offered to search engines. The register grows in waves, not in leaps.

Found a mistake?

Every model page has a “Report it” link next to the figures. You can also write to kontakt@oceansphere-service.com — we check every report and log the correction.
