The MN5008 Antigravity KV170 from T-MOTOR, a Chinese maker, is a light outrunner of the Antigravity series for endurance-oriented industrial multicopters in the class of 1 to 1.2 kg per rotor. The type code 5008 stands for a stator diameter of 50 mm and a height of 8 mm, the layout has 24 slots and 28 poles, and the protection rating is IP35.
The motor weighs 128 g including the cable and measures 55.6 x 32 mm. At KV 170 and about 47 V that works out to roughly 8,000 rpm at no load. Power and peak current, 720 W and 15 A, apply for 180 s and fit 48 V, that is 12S. The maximum thrust of 4,100 g is a test-stand value with the P18x6.1 propeller at 100 % throttle and about 47 V, 32 times the motor's own weight. Propellers of 17 to 18 inches on 6 to 12S are recommended.
IP35 stands for protection against solid objects from 2.5 mm and against water jets; it covers the motor, not the ESC and battery. At 1 to 1.2 kg per rotor a quadcopter comes to 4 to 4.8 kg and so exceeds the C2 limit (4 kg); below 25 kg, C3 and C4 apply, and Remote ID is mandatory for C1 to C3. Motor, ESC and battery must share the same cell count.
Designing for endurance means large propellers, low speed and operation near the hover point at low current; the 4,100 g of thrust are the reserve, not the working point. Bearings, winding insulation and rotor bell show wear as roughness, signs of heat or run-out. For the weight budget, note that the 128 g includes the cable.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
