The Hobbywing XRotor X9 Plus G2L is an integrated propulsion unit for heavy multicopters on 12 to 14S: a motor with a 96 × 20 mm stator, an ESC and a 43-inch folding propeller form one package from the Chinese manufacturer. The housing carries protection rating IPX6, meaning it is protected against powerful water jets.
KV 80 means 80 revolutions per volt, low and therefore designed for large propellers and efficiency. The folding propeller MFP 43x14 measures 43 inches, about 1.1 m. Maximum thrust is 28,000 g; for sustained operation the manufacturer recommends 12 to 14 kg per axis, and the upper limit of 14,000 g is the figure entered. The ESC delivers 40 A continuous and 150 A peak for 3 s; control is by PWM and CAN (Cyphal/UAVCAN, DroneCAN, HWCAN). The unit weighs 1,852 g.
Frame and law: with four axes and 12 to 14 kg per axis the take-off weight is 48 to 56 kg, far above the 25 kg limit of the open category; such aircraft need the specific category with an operational authorisation. A 14S pack brings 51.8 Wh per ampere-hour, and from about 3.1 Ah it passes the IATA limit of 160 Wh.
Selection and wear: the propeller is part of the design, a different one changes thrust and current. The 150 A peak reserve lasts only 3 s; for sustained operation plan with the recommended load. Check motor bearings, winding, fold hinge and the IPX6 seals regularly; after use in rain or salt mist, dry and clean.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
