The Hobbywing XRotor X11 G2 is not a bare controller board but an integrated propulsion unit: motor, ESC and folding propeller form one package from the Chinese manufacturer for heavy multicopters on 14S. The motor stator measures 111 × 15 mm and the intended propeller is the MFP 43x14 with a 43-inch diameter, about 1.1 m.

KV 95 means 95 revolutions per volt: low KV for large propellers and high efficiency. The maximum thrust of 32,000 g is a peak figure; the manufacturer's test-stand data show about 32.5 kg at roughly 3.4 kW input, more than the continuous power of 1,870 W. For sustained operation the manufacturer recommends 17,000 g of thrust per axis, usually for hover. The ESC in the unit delivers 60 A continuous and 150 A peak for 3 s, and is controlled by PWM and CAN (Cyphal/UAVCAN, DroneCAN, HWCAN). The unit weighs 1,980 g.

Frame and law: 17 kg of thrust per axis gives, on four axes, a take-off weight of up to 68 kg, far above the 25 kg of the open category; such aircraft belong in the specific category with an operational authorisation. On 14S each ampere-hour of battery is about 52 Wh, and a pack from about 3.1 Ah passes the IATA limit of 160 Wh.

Because motor, controller and propeller are matched, a different propeller changes thrust, current and temperature. On the motor the bearings (noise, play) and the winding insulation after heat wear, on the folding propeller the blade hinge. The CAN protocol has to suit the flight controller; HWCAN is the manufacturer's own designation.

What to check before buying

  • Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
  • Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
  • Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
