The Hobbywing XRotor X13 G2 is an integrated propulsion unit for heavy-lift multicopters on 18S: motor (stator 138 × 25 mm), ESC and folding propeller form one package from the Chinese manufacturer. The housing carries protection rating IPX6, meaning it is protected against powerful water jets; the X means that no dust class is assigned.
KV 45 means 45 revolutions per volt, matched to very large propellers. The intended folding propeller MFP 56x20 has a diameter of 56 inches, about 1.4 m; the MFC 57x20 is an alternative. Maximum thrust is 60,000 g, and for sustained operation the manufacturer recommends 27,000 g per axis. The ESC delivers 70 A continuous and 200 A peak for 3 s; control is by PWM and CAN (Cyphal/UAVCAN, DroneCAN, HWCAN). The unit weighs 4,185 g.
Frame and law: 27 kg per axis gives, on four axes, up to 108 kg take-off weight. That is far beyond the open category (under 25 kg) and requires the specific category with an operational authorisation. On 18S each ampere-hour of battery is about 67 Wh; from about 2.4 Ah a pack already passes the IATA limit of 160 Wh.
For selection, the unit ties you to the manufacturer's propeller recommendation. Wear: bearings and winding on the motor, the hinge of the folding blades and the seals that secure IPX6; after use in salt mist or dust, clean and check for play. At 66 to 76 V the connectors and spark protection on connection matter.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
