The Hobbywing XRotor X15 (15623) is an integrated propulsion unit of the Hobbywing X series for heavy 18S multicopters with a 63-inch propeller. Motor, ESC and folding propeller are supplied as one unit and matched to each other.
The motor has KV 45, that is 45 revolutions per volt, for very large propellers. The folding propeller MFP 63x24 measures 63 inches, about 1.6 m. The maximum thrust of 72,000 g applies at 69 V; for sustained operation the recommendation is 32.5 to 37.5 kg per rotor, and the upper limit of 37,500 g is the figure entered. For current the manufacturer gives 300 A as the maximum for short-term and sustained operation without separating the two; sizing therefore follows the recommended load per rotor. Control is by PWM and CAN (HWCAN, DroneCAN), the weight is 5,908 g and the cell count 18S.
Frame and law: at 37.5 kg per rotor, four axes give 150 kg take-off weight, far beyond the 25 kg of the open category; operation is possible only in the specific category with an operational authorisation. An 18S pack brings about 67 Wh per ampere-hour, and from about 2.4 Ah it passes the IATA limit of 160 Wh.
For selection and wear: the unit fits the recommended propeller, a different one changes thrust, current and temperature. At 300 A and 69 V the connections have to sit firmly and tolerate sparking on connection. Check bearings, winding and the fold hinge of the blades regularly for play and noise.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
