The T-MOTOR THUNDER 200A 24S is a powerful single-motor ESC from the Chinese maker T-MOTOR for heavy multicopters on 12S to 24S. It drives one motor, reports data back through a UART-TTL interface and has protection rating IP54.
The 200 A figure does not separate continuous from peak current. Anyone sizing the controller therefore sets the motor's continuous current clearly below it and allows reserve for heat. The voltage window runs from 12S to 24S, i.e. up to 100.8 V fully charged with lithium-polymer cells at 4.2 V. UART-TTL is a serial interface at logic level through which operating data is read out; telemetry is thus available. IP54 means protection against dust and splashing water, not against water jets or immersion.
Frame and law: on 24S each ampere-hour of battery is about 89 Wh, and from about 1.8 Ah a pack is above the IATA limit of 160 Wh and travels only as dangerous goods. Above 100 V DC, handling the battery needs special care, for example low-spark connectors and pre-charging. Aircraft of this drive class are often above 25 kg take-off mass and belong in the specific category with an operational authorisation.
For selection, cooling counts: housing and airflow determine how much current is possible continuously. Wear shows at power connections, seals and capacitors; check after heat, rain or a crash. The operating data read out helps to recognise overload early.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
