The Gremsy T7 is a medium-sized three-axis gimbal from the Vietnamese maker Gremsy for heavy-class multicopters. It is designed for payloads up to about 3.2 kg, such as Phase One iXM, Specim and Workswell WIRIS GIS 320.

The maximum payload is 3,175 g (7 lb) for camera and lens together. The gimbal weighs 1,860 g. The axis ranges are ±300° in pan, ±120° in tilt and ±45° in roll. It mounts through HDMI Hyper Quick Release; control runs through USB 2.0, CAN, UART, S-Bus, Spektrum or PPM, and Bluetooth is added. Gremsy lists compatible cameras including Phase One iXM50 and iXM-100, iXM-RS150F and RS100F, Corocam 8 UAV, Specim AFX10 and AFX17, Workswell WIRIS GIS 320 and Senop HSC-2.

Gimbal and payload together can exceed 5 kg; the aircraft therefore lies above class C2 (4 kg), usually in C3 and C4 (up to 25 kg) or in the specific category. Cameras that show people recognisably make operator registration necessary, and recordings fall under data-protection law.

The centre of gravity changes with every camera, and the gimbal must be rebalanced after a change. Anyone using the full 3.2 kg strains motors and bearings heavily and shortens the aircraft's flight time. Check the latch of the quick-release mount, play in the axes, aged dampers, and connectors and cables at the pivot points.

What to check before buying

  • Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
  • Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
  • Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
