The Gremsy Pixy WE is a gimbal from the Vietnamese maker Gremsy for mid-sized multicopters, tuned to the Workswell WIRIS Enterprise thermal camera.
The gimbal weighs 500 g including the quick-release mount. It connects through Micro USB, CAN, UART (MAVLink), PPM, S-Bus, Spektrum and Bluetooth; Micro HDMI carries the video signal. Through UART with MAVLink, an ArduPilot or PX4 autopilot can address the gimbal. A gimbal for thermal cameras must hold the device steady, because unrest smears the thermal image and measuring points wander across the frame.
Thermal images of people and property fall under data-protection law. Gimbal and camera count towards take-off mass, whose EU class limits are 900 g (C1), 4 kg (C2) and 25 kg (C3 and C4). Export controls can apply to the camera itself: thermal cameras with a frame rate above 9 Hz fall under the EU Dual-Use Regulation.
The camera sets the design: for a different device, weight, centre of gravity and connectors must be checked again. Because thermal inspections often take place close to the ground and near installations, the secure seating of the quick-release mount is checked before every flight. Further points to check are the dampers, the connectors and play in the axes; firmware is maintained to match aircraft and camera.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
