The Gremsy Pixy SM is a mapping gimbal from the Vietnamese maker Gremsy for heavy multicopters. It is designed for the Sony A7R IV and A7R V cameras, both full-frame with 61 megapixels, and connects to the DJI Matrice 300 RTK through Skyport.
The gimbal weighs 570 g. Skyport 2.0 joins it mechanically and electrically to the aircraft, and UART and USB-C are available in addition. It is meant to keep the heavy full-frame camera pointing straight down even in wind and when the aircraft changes attitude. The Skyport connection makes the gimbal a solution for DJI platforms, not for arbitrary drones.
Gimbal and camera count towards the take-off mass of the Matrice 300 RTK. For classification in the EU classes, the limits are 4 kg (C2) and 25 kg (C3 and C4); for operations with higher risk, the specific category comes into question. Mapping images at 61 megapixels capture property and people in high resolution, which falls under data-protection law, and the operator must be registered.
Mapping cameras with interchangeable lenses shift their centre of gravity with every lens; after a lens change, the gimbal must be rebalanced. Vibration from the aircraft shows as blur in the images. Check the dampers, the Skyport contacts, the connectors and play in the axes; firmware is maintained to match the aircraft.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
