The Molicel INR-18650-P30B is a high-power round cell in the 18650 format from Molicel (E-One Moli Energy Corp.), a maker based in Taipei, Taiwan. Cells of the P series are widely used in lithium-ion packs for long-range FPV and drones; the P30B is intended for small FPV drones with high current demand.
The cell stores 3,000 mAh at 3.6 V nominal voltage, which is 10.8 Wh, at 234 Wh/kg and at most 47 g. The continuous discharge current is 30 A, which is 10C, with cut-off at 80 °C: this is the cell temperature at which discharge ends, so 30 A is not a figure for load of any length without heat removal. The data sheet in version 1.0 gives 30 A; dealers sometimes advertise 36 A, which is not confirmed. Molicel releases the data sheet through a contact form.
Six cells in series (6S1P) come to 64.8 Wh and so stay below the IATA limit of 100 Wh for spare batteries. Lithium cells must meet the tests of UN 38.3 for transport and are packed protected against short circuit, for example in the original packaging or with taped terminals. Cell connectors and protection electronics belong, when assembling the pack, in a specialist workshop.
When choosing, heat counts: in a tight pack a cell reaches 80 °C at 30 A sooner than with free air circulation. The pack current must stay well below the cell value, and with parallel cells it is shared. The cells of one pack should come from the same batch and capacity class. Molicel cells are often counterfeited; reputable dealers are the only protection.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
