The 1988 135L TRI has an unladen weight of 15,480 kg and, at a gross vehicle weight of 36,000 kg, reaches a payload of 20,520 kg. At 13,900 mm long, 2,540 mm wide and with a 9,100 mm wheelbase, it is a long, sturdy build for classic heavy haulage. Such a build suited classic heavy-haulage work across long distances on the roads of its time.

Above 10 tonnes of gross vehicle weight, a simple overrun brake is no longer permitted; class O4 trailers need an air brake system that works together with the towing vehicle's brakes. The towing vehicle and trailer must be matched to the combined train weight, and such a combination is driven with a category CE licence.

When buying this trailer secondhand, the condition of the frame and axle mountings comes first, since through-corrosion typically starts there. The brake system should be checked for tightness and even action, and the tyres for age cracking rather than tread depth alone.
