The register lists 13 versions here with 73 kW, four- to six-cylinder engines of 2,476 to 2,972 cm³, unladen weights from 1,615 to 1,960 kg, gross vehicle weights from 2,510 to 2,550 kg, lengths from 4,635 to 4,650 mm and widths from 1,680 to 1,770 mm.

The Galloper positioned itself as a cheaper alternative to the pricier Pajero in the same segment of classic body-on-frame off-roaders, competing with models such as the Toyota Land Cruiser or Nissan Terrano, before the brand was discontinued in the early 2000s as Hyundai's own SUV models rose.

When buying used, check the turbocharger on the TD/TDI engines, corrosion on the ladder frame and axle suspension on all models, and the function of the transfer case and differential lock; since Galloper no longer exists as an independent brand, spare parts can partly be sourced through compatibility with Mitsubishi Pajero components.
