Hürlimann – other models: the collective page of Swiss tractors outside the named ranges, from the early petrol-paraffin types 2 M 20 to the SAME-era XA and XB, 5.9 to 67.6 kW, petrol, paraffin and diesel
This page gathers the Hürlimann tractors the register could not assign to a named range. Hürlimann of Wil in Switzerland built one of the first series-produced diesel tractors in Europe in 1929, after the company had earlier started with petrol-paraffin systems, in which the engine was started on petrol and then switched to the cheaper paraffin – a drive principle reflected in early types on this page such as the 2 M 20 and the 4 T 26 Z. In the 1970s Hürlimann became part of the Italian SAME group, today trading as Same Deutz-Fahr (SDF); since then the brand has shared platforms and assemblies with the sister marques Same and Lamborghini Trattori, visible in the later XA, XB and XL ranges with their shared type logic of power class and equipment code.

The register lists here 33 versions with 5.9 to 67.6 kW, or 8 to 92 hp, from one- to four-cylinders of 765 to 4,954 cm³ displacement, unladen weights from 780 to 4,700 kg, lengths from 2,200 to 3,750 mm, widths from 1,400 to 1,920 mm and speeds from 1,200 to 2,100 rpm; the engines mostly ran on petrol-paraffin systems or plain petrol, and on the newer versions also on diesel.
Hürlimann ranks among the long-established Swiss tractor brands and, with its early diesel pioneering work, was ahead of its time technologically, before the brand became one of several European tractor marques with a shared platform base within the SAME group.
On the early petrol-paraffin types, the condition of the switch-over system and the ignition, on the diesel models the state of injection pump and engine, generally the tightness of gearbox and hydraulics, and rust on sheet metal count; spares run through the Same Deutz-Fahr network and specialist Swiss Hürlimann dealers.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Check the weights in the papers against the figures here — attachments change them.
- Shift the gearbox cold and warm — jumps only show up at temperature.
- Load the hydraulics and watch for sag.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
