The Eicher 3000 brings together mid-range series from the Bavarian maker Eicher of Forstern near Munich, whose four-digit type numbers begin with the digit 3. Eicher had built tractors since the 1930s and gave some series their own names, such as Wotan, as seen on the 3014 Wotan II A; the AS and S suffixes on the 3048 mark different equipment grades of the same base version. From the 3014 as the smallest to the 3453 as the largest model, the line spans two- to six-cylinder engines.
