The SkyRC PC3020-12-24S is a two-channel 3 kW mains charger for batteries from 12S up to 22S or 24S from the PC series of SkyRC, a manufacturer from Shenzhen. The series is meant for agricultural and industrial drones, the PC3020 for heavy multicopters with high pack voltage.

The power depends on the mains: 3,000 W applies at 176 to 290 V, and at 100 to 120 V it is only 1,500 W. The charge current is 45 A. The unit has two channels and charges 12S to 22S in the PC3020-1 variant or 12S to 24S in the PC3020-2 variant. It supports LiPo, LiHV with an adjustable end-of-charge voltage of 4.25 to 4.5 V per cell, and smart batteries with CAN. The input is AC 100 to 240 V. The unit weighs 6,940 g and measures 305 × 148 × 240 mm.

At high cell counts the power limits the current: from about 67 V pack voltage, that is from about 16S, 3,000 W no longer suffices for 45 A. A 24S LiPo pack has 100.8 V when fully charged; at that voltage care is needed with exposed contacts. The adjustable end-of-charge voltage calls for a deliberate choice, because a value set too high overcharges cells designed for only 4.2 V. Charge lithium batteries only according to the manufacturer's instructions, under supervision and on a non-flammable surface, ideally in a charging bag; do not charge damaged or swollen packs.

When choosing, the cell count of your own packs decides: the variant must match it, 22S or 24S. Per kilowatt hour of pack energy the unit needs 20 minutes by calculation at 3,000 W, and 40 at 1,500 W on 120 V mains. Smart batteries need a charger that understands their protocol. Wear concerns the fan and dust in the housing; keep the ventilation openings clear.

What to check before buying

  • Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
  • Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
  • Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
