The GBS 10/350 Speedy UAV from GALAXY GRS (Czech Republic) is a ballistic recovery unit for fast UAVs of 15 to 35 kg and 100 to 220 km/h, such as occur among fixed-wing aircraft and VTOL configurations. A pyrogenerator ejects the canopy. The unit measures 100 mm in diameter and 190 mm in length.
The manufacturer ensures opening up to 220 km/h in 1.5 s and up to 300 km/h in up to 2.5 s. At 220 km/h an aircraft covers about 90 m in 1.5 s: at these speeds the opening needs distance and time, and that belongs in the planning of approach and landing. The minimum deployment altitude is 30 m, the sink rate up to 6.1 m/s, and the unit is rated up to 35 kg. The system weighs 770 g.
Motor cut-off (FTS) is optional: a motor disconnector is available as additional equipment, and in the test the electronics switched the motors off automatically on deployment. In the test, release was by an impulse from the pilot. The manufacturer names environmental testing to RTCA DO-160G. Aircraft of this kind often fly beyond visual line of sight; for flights over people or in certain scenarios of the Specific category, evidence to ASTM F3322 or EASA MoC Light-UAS.2511 and 2512 may be required.
The pyrogenerator is a consumable and is replaced after a deployment; canopy and lines must be checked for tears, heat marks and moisture, above all after an opening at high speed. Pyrotechnic releases can fall under their own transport and storage rules; shipping and storage follow the manufacturer's instructions. Selection is decided by the cruise speed of the aircraft; the compatibility entry gives 100 to 220 km/h.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
