The GBS 10/350 UAV from GALAXY GRS (Czech Republic) is a ballistic recovery unit for heavy multicopters of 15 to 35 kg. The canopy is ejected by a pyrogenerator. The unit measures 100 mm in diameter and 190 mm in length and covers aircraft up to 80 km/h.
The system is rated up to 35 kg take-off weight. Depending on load the sink rate is between 3.7 and 6.1 m/s, with the rated value of 6.1 m/s applying to full load. The minimum deployment altitude is 8 m. At 725 g without carabiner and suspension, the unit is heavier than the smaller version with its 5 to 15 kg range; the added weight counts towards take-off weight.
Motor cut-off (FTS) is optional: a motor disconnector is available as additional equipment, and in the test the electronics switched the motors off automatically on deployment. In the test, release was by an impulse from the pilot. The manufacturer names environmental testing to RTCA DO-160G and a report from a military technical institute of the air force. At 15 to 35 kg the aircraft is above the limit of EU class C2; flights over people or in certain scenarios of the Specific category can call for evidence to ASTM F3322 or EASA MoC Light-UAS.2511 and 2512, which has to be produced for the own combination.
As a pyrotechnic system the unit belongs among the releases that can fall under their own transport and storage rules; shipping and carriage follow the manufacturer's instructions. The pyrogenerator is replaced after a deployment, and canopy and lines are checked for tears, heat marks and moisture. Important in selection: the mass of the aircraft with payload belongs in the range of 15 to 35 kg, and the minimum height of 8 m has to fit the planned flight profile.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
