The DroneBeacon db300 from BlueMark Innovations is a Remote ID module for installation, tailored to US procurement rules: it is listed in the Blue UAS Framework (10.07.2026) and meets NDAA sections 848 and 889. It has one MAVLink port and two DroneCAN ports and is intended for drones using FAA Standard Remote ID. The radio is a u-blox BMD-345 with an nRF52840.
It transmits by Bluetooth only, as Bluetooth 4 Legacy and Bluetooth 5 Long Range; there is no Wi-Fi. Long Range covers more distance at the same power but requires the receiving device to understand that mode. The module has no GNSS receiver of its own; position comes from the flight controller. It weighs 2.5 g without the antenna and runs proprietary firmware that is compatible with ArduRemoteID.
The standards named are ASTM F3411-22a (RID-B), ASTM F3586-22 and ASD-STAN EN 4709-002. For the EU a module must transmit to EN 4709-002 and carry an EU declaration of conformity; the FCC and CE certification here covers the radio module, not the whole device. Direct remote identification applies to drones of classes C1, C2, C3, C5 and C6 and, in the specific category, since 01.01.2024.
When choosing, ask whether the actual use case demands US rules such as NDAA and Blue UAS at all; anyone who does not need them has a wider choice among other ArduRemoteID modules. The DroneCAN port requires a flight controller with a CAN bus, MAVLink a free serial port. At 2.5 g the connectors and cables are the most delicate points, which vibration loosens over time.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
