Steyr Jubiläumsserie – tractors of types 188, 188 N, 190 and 288 from St. Valentin, two- to four-cylinder diesels from 21 to 33 kW, compact build for mixed farm use
The Jubiläumsserie brings together Steyr's 188, 188 N, 190 and 288 types, built at the St. Valentin plant in Upper Austria. As with the Plus series, the three-digit type number orders the models by power class, with the 188 and 190 in the lower and the 288 in the upper part of the range covered here; the letter N on the 188 N denotes a revised version of the base 188 type. Steyr, active in tractor building since the 1940s, covered the mid-market segment for smaller and medium farms with these compact two- to four-cylinder tractors.

With their compact dimensions and modest output, the Jubiläumsserie tractors were at home on farms with tight yard space and in grassland and orchard work, where manoeuvrability mattered more than raw pulling power; they thus sat in the same market segment as comparable compact tractors from Fendt and Deutz.
When buying used, check the condition of the clutch and gearbox, the tightness of the hydraulics at the lift arms and spool valves, and rust on the wings, bonnet and cab frame. Parts for the engine and drivetrain are available through the Steyr Traktoren network under CNH Industrial, and for older attachments it is worth also checking independent suppliers.
