New Holland Hydraulic Excavator

The number after the E corresponds roughly to size class and operating weight: across all 35 models, operating weight ranges from 12,800 to 79,000 kg, with engine output from 60 to 344 kW. The letter after it marks the generation – the B-Series was followed by the C-Series, which the manufacturer states delivers roughly 5% more power. Suffixes like SR (Short Reach, a shorter tail swing for confined sites) mark further variants.

Tier 4 Final emissions standards marked a turning point: newer models meet it via cooled exhaust gas recirculation and a diesel oxidation catalyst, without a particulate filter. Displacement (3,900 to 15,600 cm³) and cylinder count (4 to 6) are recorded for over 30 models, torque (390 to 998 Nm) for 16.

Buying used, pay attention to boom and dipper bushings, undercarriage track condition, and the tightness of the main and swing pumps. Models such as E130, E175, E215 and E385 appear regularly in the listed inventory – but the trailing number alone says nothing about build year; that's what the serial plate is for.
