JLG Boom Lifts: What S, SJ and AJ Mean After the Number
On JLG models like the 400S, 460SJ or 740AJ, the number roughly tracks platform height in feet, while the letter code describes the boom type: "S" marks a straight telescopic boom, "SJ" a telescopic boom with an added basket jib, and "AJ" an articulating boom with a jib.
