The Farmer range was Fendt's standard-tractor programme for decades before Vario transmission technology transformed the whole line-up from the 1990s onward; the Farmer 100 series, with the 102 to 108 models, covers the mid power segment for classic arable and grassland farming. The type logic orders the number by power class in ascending order, S on the 105 marking a special or sport version with more power, SA a four-wheel-drive variant of that trim. The engines range from a three-cylinder in the 102 to a four-cylinder in the larger models, all with a classic manual gearbox and mechanical injection typical of Fendt tractors before the Vario era.
