The power range of roughly 25 to 185 hp covers everything from the light yard and compact tractor to the mid-range field tractor. Tractors of this kind from Chinese manufacturers are aimed chiefly at price-conscious buyers in Eastern Europe, Africa and parts of Asia, where they are sold as a cheaper alternative to established European and American brands.

Buying used, what matters first is which of the two engine makers named in the register is actually fitted, since parts and service intervals differ between Xinchai, Laidong and Yuchai units. Also check the hydraulics and PTO for leaks, the sheet metal and paint for early corrosion, and the clutch and gearbox for scoring; spare parts usually run only through specialised importers, which can delay repairs.
