Daimler Other models

This page gathers vans and light commercial vehicles that the register carries under the group name Daimler but could not assign to a narrower individual range – and it shows how many different companies have carried the name Daimler. The span reaches from the Mercedes-Benz Vito ranges W638, 639 and 447 through the current Sprinter of the 907 range and the Dodge Ram from the merger era of Daimler-Benz and Chrysler into DaimlerChrysler (1998 to 2007) to the Dingo, the light reconnaissance vehicle of the British Daimler Company, which despite shared roots in Gottlieb Daimler was an independent company and built this scout car during the Second World War for the British Army. On the Vito and Sprinter, the CDI figure follows the Mercedes scheme and gives the engine power in hp divided by ten; on the Dodge Ram, the numbers 1500 and 3500 stand for the American payload classes of half-ton and one-ton.
