Chamberlain Other models

The register lists here 18 versions with 34 to 115 kW (45 to 154 hp) from two- and three-cylinder engines; Perkins, Detroit Diesel and John Deere are recorded as engine suppliers. Among the fuel types diesel clearly predominates, one model also ran on petrol/TVO (Tractor Vaporising Oil), a light fuel common in Australia and Britain on earlier model years.

In the 1950s and 1960s Chamberlain was one of the few significant Australian tractor makers, supplying chiefly the large grain-growing farms of Western Australia's wheatbelt, where rugged technology and local parts availability mattered more than an international brand presence. The takeover by John Deere ended the brand's independent history, though the Champion models remained in the range for a long time as Chamberlain-John Deere tractors.

Buying used Chamberlain models, the older petrol/TVO types call for checking the carburettor and ignition system, the diesel models the cooling system and injection pump of the respective engine brand, plus wear on the gearbox and rear axle after decades of service. Parts run, depending on the engine, through the Perkins, Detroit Diesel or John Deere networks and through Australian vintage-tractor specialists.
