The register lists nine versions with 66 to 99 kW, or 90 to 135 hp, from four- to six-cylinder engines displacing 5,320 to 11,940 cm³. Kerb weights range from 3,620 to 9,431 kg, gross vehicle weights from 5,150 to 17,700 kg, lengths from 6,600 to 9,520 mm and widths from 2,100 to 2,380 mm.

As a smaller Swiss manufacturer, Berna competed, alongside Saurer and FBW, with the larger German and French truck brands and mainly supplied domestic construction and municipal transport as well as haulage firms in the Alpine region. The models gathered here mostly date from the middle decades of the company's history and span the range from light distribution trucks to heavy tractor units.

When buying such now-rare vehicles, the condition of the frame and steering knuckles matters most, since Berna chassis saw heavy use in municipal and construction work. The clutch, brake system and air suspension deserve close inspection, as does corrosion of the cab floor structure. Parts for the engine and drivetrain can partly be sourced through specialists in Swiss commercial vehicles owing to the shared heritage with Saurer, while body and cab parts are usually only available as reproductions or from salvage vehicles.
