The 7245 H from Zetor is part of the Serie-2 (UR-1) series. Production: 1984–1993. The engine delivers 64 hp (46.6 kW), has 4 cylinders, with a displacement of 3,595 cm³. Torque is 224 Nm. Rated speed is 2,200 rpm. The machine is 3,760 mm long, 2,275 mm wide and 2,690 mm high. The unladen weight is 3,835 kg. The wheelbase measures 2,210 mm. Ground clearance is 346 mm. Top speed is 25 km/h. The tank holds 70 litres. Transmission: 20 V/4 R. The engine is water-cooled. Tyres: front 9.5-24 AS, rear 21.3-24 AS. The fuel is diesel. The bore measures 102 mm. The stroke is 110 mm. Maximum torque is reached at 1,300 rpm. Construction: unit construction (no separate frame). The linkage is category II. The PTO runs at 540/1000 rpm. The Serie-2 (UR-1) series covers 7 models. Rated output within it ranges from 45 to 73 hp; the 7245 H sits in the upper part of that range with 64 hp. Its immediate neighbours are the 6211/6245 below it with 59 hp and the 7211/7245 above it with 66 hp. Unladen weight within it ranges from 2,230 to 3,835 kg; here the 7245 H sits at the top of that range with 3,835 kg. 371 Zetor models across 27 series are on record.

Zetor 5211-7745: the classic UR I series, from the 5211/5245 to the 7711/7745, 33.1 to 53.7 kW, three- and four-cylinder engines with water cooling

This series covers Zetor's first "Unified Row" (UR I), which from 1982 replaced the older Crystal tractors and carried type designations from 5211/5245 up to 7711/7745. Through the 1980s it was among the most widely built tractors of the Eastern Bloc.

The register lists 7 live models built between 1984 and 2004, including the smaller 5211/5245 and 6211/6245 and the stronger 7211/7245 and 7711/7745. Output ranges from 33.1 to 53.7 kW, weight from 2,230 to 3,835 kg, displacement from 2,696 to 3,922 cm3 across three- and four-cylinder engines.

Conceptually, the UR I tractors were simple, easy-to-maintain all-rounders for arable work and transport, often with optional four-wheel drive, built for high volumes and long service life rather than comfort.

Since the series ran for over two decades with only minor updates, early and late examples differ little technically; when buying used, the condition of the hydraulics and gearbox matters most.

In this power class of 33.1 to 53.7 kW, the ISO 730 three-point linkage is mostly built to Category I, with the PTO running at the standard 540 rpm speed. Since the UR I series was built for over two decades around shared central components, many mechanical parts – clutch, rear axle, hydraulic pump – interchange between model years and even with other Zetor series from the same era.

What to check before buying

  • Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
  • Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
  • Check the weights in the papers against the figures here — attachments change them.
  • Check front and rear tyre sizes: mismatched pairs strain the drivetrain.
  • Shift the gearbox cold and warm — jumps only show up at temperature.
  • Load the hydraulics and watch for sag.
  • Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
