Until its sale to Valmet, Volvo BM was one of the leading Scandinavian tractor makers, with a strong position in Sweden, Norway and Finland; the rugged models were particularly sought after for forestry and municipal work in the Nordic climate.
When buying used, rust on the frame and cab, the condition of the hydraulic pump and clutch, and on the larger T models the front-axle bearings all matter. Parts partly overlap with later Valmet and Valtra stock, but are increasingly only found through specialists.
