The Ursus 1232 belongs to the tractor group and is an agricultural pulling vehicle. It is equipped with a six‑cylinder engine with a displacement of 6,842 cm³ and a rated power of 117 hp (86.1 kW) at 2,200 rpm. The maximum available torque is 413 Nm. The vehicle measures 4,496 mm in length, 2,267 mm in width and 2,932 mm in height. The gearbox is configured as 16 V/8 R, providing 16 forward and 8 reverse gears. The fuel tank holds 130 L and the pump speed ranges from 540 rpm to 1,000 rpm. The lift category is Cat II/III.

The 117 hp power enables pulling heavy implements and handling demanding field work. The high torque of 413 Nm provides good pulling force at low engine speeds, which is especially advantageous for plowing and harrowing. With 16 forward and 8 reverse gears, the working speed can be flexibly adjusted to different conditions. The generous 130 L tank capacity reduces refueling stops during long operations.

The Ursus 1232 is designed for typical tasks in medium to large agricultural enterprises. It is particularly suitable for field cultivation, transport of harvests, and operation of heavy implements, where both power and torque are decisive.

Ursus — one brand, two licences, many relatives

Anyone looking at an Ursus rarely sees a purely in-house design. The brand's history is a history of licences — and that is precisely why parts are often easier to find than the production figures would suggest.

In 1965 the Warsaw plant began building the C-4011 under a licence agreement with Zetor in Brno. At its heart sat the S-4001 engine, the Polish version of Zetor's Z-4001. That kinship runs through the ranges: the later C-360, built from 1976 and in the programme until the end of 1994, used the S-4003, the strongest engine of that family.

In 1974 a second licence followed — the British one from Massey Ferguson, together with the associated production plant. Models such as the MF 235, MF 255 and MF 265 were then built in Poland with Perkins engines and became a fixture on many farms. The higher Ursus ranges with four-digit numbers descend from this line.

One remarkable long-runner stands out: the C-325 and its revised versions C-328 and C-330 — popularly the "thirties" — plus the C-335 export version, ran without interruption for 34 years until 1993.

When buying used it is therefore worth establishing the range's ancestry first. An Ursus from the Zetor line shares engine parts with Czech machines, one from the Massey Ferguson line with British ones. That decides where to look for components.

What to check before buying

  • Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
  • Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
  • Shift the gearbox cold and warm — jumps only show up at temperature.
  • Load the hydraulics and watch for sag.
  • Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
