The 70 series was Case's tractor programme of the Tenneco years from 1969 to 1978 – the successor to the 30s and the range with which Case united its large tractors from Racine, Wisconsin, under the Agri-King name. The type logic: the first digit (on the four-digit models the first two) orders the size class in ascending order – 470 and 570 the small four-cylinders, 770 to 970 the mid-range, 1070 to 1370 the six-cylinder large tractors, 1570 the top with 180 hp, around 1976 the world's strongest two-wheel-drive tractor – the 70 the series; the 1175 was Case's first turbocharged tractor in 1970. Used Agri-Kings are common collector and working tractors in North America; when buying, engine and turbocharger, the Power Shift transmission (clutch packs and control valves), hydraulics and cab electrics are what count.
