Fendt 300 Vario Gen4 – the fourth generation from Marktoberdorf: 311 to 314 Vario with AGCO Power four-cylinder 4,400 cm³, 84 to 112 kW, revised cab and electronics
The Fendt 300 Vario Gen4 is the fourth iteration of the compact Vario range from Marktoberdorf, replacing the previous generation with a revised cab, new operating logic and a different engine. In place of the previously fitted Deutz four-cylinder, an AGCO Power four-cylinder of 4,400 cm³, built in-house by the parent group, powers the 311 to 314 Vario models; the "Gen4" designation follows the manufacturer's internal generation count, which Fendt uses to mark update cycles of its Vario ranges. The stepless Vario transmission, the maker's hallmark since 1995, remains the namesake of the entire model range.

The register lists here 4 versions with 84 to 112 kW, torque from 485 to 515 Nm, unladen weights from 4,470 to 6,350 kg, gross weights from 8,000 to 8,750 kg, lengths from 4,060 to 4,283 mm and widths from 1,980 to 2,550 mm.
The Gen4 iteration continues to target mixed farms, grassland work and municipal use, competing there with John Deere, Case IH, Deutz-Fahr and Massey Ferguson (also part of AGCO); the revised cab with more glass area and the updated operator interface are meant to lift operating comfort to the level of the larger Vario ranges.
On a used buy, what counts is the condition of the Vario transmission unit, the tightness of the hydraulics and front PTO, the function of the terminals and ISOBUS interface, and corrosion on the wings and cab frame; parts and software updates run through AGCO's Fendt dealer network.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Check the weights in the papers against the figures here — attachments change them.
- Shift the gearbox cold and warm — jumps only show up at temperature.
- Load the hydraulics and watch for sag.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
