The Tattu TA7200 PRO is a two-channel field charger for Tattu smart batteries from 12S to 18S, intended for heavy multicopters. Tattu is the drone battery brand of Grepow in Shenzhen, with FPV LiPo packs, UAV LiPo and UHV packs, smart packs and semi-solid packs. The TA7200 PRO is designed for large amounts of energy and short charging times on missions where a generator is the power source.

The power depends on the source: 7,200 W is available only from a generator at 220 V. On 220 V mains it is at most 3,000 W, and on 110 V mains only 1,500 W. The charge current is 120 A at 220 V and 50 A at 110 V. The unit has two channels, supports LiPo, LiHV, LiUHV and Tattu smart batteries, and accepts AC 100 to 240 V, expressly without three-phase: an ordinary single-phase connection is enough. It weighs 10,000 g and measures 398 × 225 × 217 mm.

At 220 V, 7,200 W is about 33 A at the input; a household circuit of 16 A is not enough, and a generator must deliver that power continuously, not just as a brief peak. An 18S LiPo pack has 75.6 V when fully charged; at 120 A a 12S pack of 50.4 V gives only about 6,000 W, and the current reaches the full 7,200 W only from about 60 V pack voltage. Smart batteries talk to the charger, which must understand their protocol. Charge lithium batteries only according to the manufacturer's instructions, under supervision and on a non-flammable surface, ideally in a charging bag.

When choosing, the generator counts: its continuous output decides how much of the unit is usable. Per kilowatt hour of pack energy the unit needs about 8 minutes by calculation at 7,200 W, and 20 on mains at 3,000 W. At 10 kg it belongs in the vehicle, not in a backpack. In transport protect the ventilation openings and remove dust regularly. LiHV and LiUHV packs are charged only in the matching mode.

What to check before buying

  • Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
  • Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
  • Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
