The Holybro H-RTK mosaic-H is an RTK and heading module with two antennas for medium-class multicopters. Chinese maker Holybro uses the Septentrio mosaic-H and builds it into a CNC aluminium housing with SD recording. Septentrio's AIM+ interference protection comes with it.

The module handles GPS (L1, L2), Galileo (E1, E5b), GLONASS (L1, L2), BeiDou (B1, B2, B3), QZSS and SBAS. For RTK Holybro states 0.6 cm + 0.5 ppm horizontally and 1 cm + 1 ppm vertically; the vertical component is always coarser than the horizontal one in GNSS. The output rate depends on the mode: 20 Hz for RTK with attitude, 50 Hz for standalone, SBAS or DGPS with attitude, and 100 Hz for measurement data only. The compass is an IST8310. Connection is through USB-C, UART1 (GH1.25, 10-pin) and UART2 (GH1.25, 6-pin). The module weighs 54.5 g without antennas.

AIM+ detects interfering signals and suppresses them. That matters for aircraft working near radio equipment, radar sites or other sources of interference, because jamming is among the real risks for GNSS. Heading from two antennas works independently of the magnetic compass. The EU classes apply to the aircraft: from C1 upward geo-awareness and remote ID are mandatory, both resting on the GNSS position, and interference protection replaces no duty. Corrections come from a base, a radio link or NTRIP.

For selection it matters whether the frame has room for two antennas with a clear view and wide spacing, and whether the SD recording is needed, for example for PPK. The card is checked for space and formatting before flight. The CNC aluminium housing protects mechanically; antenna sockets and connectors remain the moving parts. Upkeep includes firmware, antenna cables and compass calibration.

What to check before buying

  • Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
  • Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
  • Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
