The Holybro H-RTK mosaic-G5 is a four-band RTK and heading module with two antennas for medium-class multicopters. Chinese maker Holybro builds it on the Septentrio mosaic-G5 and adds an RM3100 compass.
The module handles GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou and QZSS in four bands; the signals include GPS L1C/A, L1C, L2C, L2P(Y) and L5, Galileo E1, E5a, E5b and E6, BeiDou B1I, B1C, B2a, B2I, B2b and B3I, and QZSS up to L6. For RTK Holybro states 0.6 cm + 0.5 ppm horizontally, 1.2 m standalone without corrections and 0.4 m with DGNSS. DGNSS means that corrections from code measurements bring the error down to decimetres without reaching the centimetre class of RTK. The output rate is 20 Hz. Connection is through USB-C, UART1 (GH1.25, 10-pin) and UART2 (GH1.25, 6-pin). The module weighs 48.5 g without antennas.
Heading from two antennas does not depend on the magnetic compass: Holybro states 0.15 degrees at 1 m antenna spacing. The wider the spacing, the better the heading, because the same position error then gives a smaller angle. That helps on aircraft with a lot of steel, current and magnetic field near the compass. The EU classes apply to the aircraft: from C1 upward geo-awareness and remote ID are mandatory, both resting on the GNSS position. Corrections come from a base, a radio link or NTRIP.
For selection it matters whether the frame has room for two antennas with a clear view and the widest practical spacing. The spacing is measured and entered in the flight controller; a wrong entry distorts the heading. The weight is for the module without antennas. Upkeep includes firmware, checking the antenna cables for kinks, and compass calibration.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
