The DJI O3 Air Unit is a digital FPV video transmitter with an integrated camera for small FPV drones. It works with the DJI Goggles 2 or the FPV Goggles V2, transmits on 5.8 GHz and receives on 2.4 and 5.8 GHz. It is fitted, among others, in cinewhoops of the GEPRC Cinelog series; with the O4 range there is a newer generation of the same system.
The picture is 1080p at 100 fps. The latency of 30 ms applies with the Goggles 2 at 1080p and 100 fps; with the FPV Goggles V2 at 810p and 120 fps, DJI quotes under 28 ms. The range of 10 km is an FCC figure with clear line of sight; under CE it is 2 km, under SRRC 6 km. The transmit power of 1,995 mW is the converted FCC ceiling of under 33 dBm EIRP, not a measurement. The channels available are one 40 MHz channel, three 20 MHz channels and three 10 MHz channels. With the camera the unit weighs 36.4 g, without it about 28 g, and the antenna about 3 g; supply voltage runs from 7.4 to 26.4 V.
In the EU, 25 mW EIRP is allowed in the 5.8 GHz band without a licence; the CE limit of under 14 dBm matches that value. The FCC power may not be used in the EU, and the 2 km under CE is the figure to plan with. Equipment may be operated in the EU only in the frequency ranges and power levels approved there.
When choosing, weight and heat count: the air unit warms up when stationary without airflow, so long waits on the ground before take-off should be avoided. The antenna is a typical weak point after crashes and should be replaced when broken, otherwise range drops noticeably. Goggles and air unit must run matching firmware, and both must speak the O3 protocol.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
