The SKYctrl S from Advanced Protection Systems (APS, Poland) is a rapidly deployable counter-drone kit used as a portable or deployable set. It consists of up to two radars and an automatic directional jammer, optionally complemented by a kinetic effector. The manufacturer gives NATO classes 1 to 3 as the target class; the system is in service with the Polish and Ukrainian armed forces.
Set-up takes under 5 minutes according to the manufacturer, which matters when the site changes. The directional jammer acts on communication and navigation bands, that is on the radio link and on GNSS; the directional radiation limits the effect to one sector. The manufacturer names the military, events and police as fields of use.
Who may operate jammers is set by § 91 TKG in Germany and Art. 42 of the Electronic Communications Law (Dz.U. 2024 item 1221) in Poland: authorities and armed forces only. According to the manufacturer's approval note, it is not sold to private parties. The optional kinetic effector falls under the countermeasures reserved to the state. Destroying, disabling or taking over a drone is reserved to designated state bodies in Poland under Art. 156ze of the Aviation Law (Dz.U. 2025 item 179); in Germany hazard prevention rests with the federal and state police, and § 15a LuftSiG governs support by the armed forces through administrative assistance.
For portable kits, weight per carry load, battery run time, operating temperature and the robustness of directional antennas and connectors decide. If lithium batteries are carried, the IATA limits of 100 and 160 Wh per battery apply to air travel. Radars and jammer have to be aimed at the sector before each set-up, and the software kept current.
