The INTRAC is Deutz's own answer to the self-propelled toolcarrier: unlike a normal tractor, the engine sits centrally in the frame and the driver in a raised, central cab, so the axle load is almost evenly distributed and the machine can carry equally heavy implements front and rear – for instance a sprayer boom at the front and a cultivator at the back in one pass, as required in viticulture, hop-growing and vegetable production, where high ground clearance and low soil pressure matter. The type logic of the 2000 range (INTRAC 2002 to 2007) orders the models in ascending power class, from the small three-cylinders to the large six-cylinders for professional special-crop use.
