Case IH CX series (1998–2002) – the utility tractors from Doncaster and Neuss: CX 50 to CX 100, the number as hp class, DT for four-wheel drive, Perkins and Case three- and four-cylinders of 2.7 to 4.2 litres
The CX range was Case IH's simple utility tractor of the late 1990s – the successor to the 3200 and 4200 ranges, built at first in Doncaster, England, and Neuss on the Rhine, the former IH plants, and after the merger into CNH in 1999 partly in Racine for North America. The type logic: CX marks the range, the number the hp class – CX 50 about 50 hp, CX 70 70 hp, CX 90 90 hp, CX 100 about 100 hp – DT four-wheel drive (the designation from the Italian doppia trazione that CNH took over from Fiat). The engines are three- and four-cylinders from Perkins (1004.4 of 4.0 litres) and from Case IH's own production in Neuss of 2.7 to 4.2 litres at 2,200 to 2,250 rpm, with mechanical injection pump; the transmission is the synchromesh gearbox with shuttle, the cab the plain version without electronics.

The CX was the tractor of grassland and part-time farms, horse yards and municipalities looking for a simple four-cylinder without electronics; in 2002 the JX range from Jesi followed in the same logic.
On used tractors, operating hours, engine condition and injection pump, clutch and shuttle, four-wheel-drive clutch on DT models, hydraulics and cab count; parts run through CNH and Perkins and are inexpensive.
