Josef Bautz AG, based in Saulgau in Upper Swabia, built compact tractors under the designation AL in the 1950s and 1960s; the number in the type roughly denotes the power class in horsepower. The company was taken over by Fendt in 1966, which then ended production under the Bautz brand.
