Volvo FH-SERIEN

The FH series is Volvo's answer to the flagship models of Scania, MAN, DAF and Mercedes-Benz in international long-haul haulage, and is used both as a classic tractor unit and as a chassis for special bodies. The high cab with a flat floor above the engine tunnel, giving the driver standing room, became the range's trademark.

On used FH models, the cab mounting and tilt mechanism, which wear under heavy long-haul use, are worth checking, as is the condition of the air suspension on both cab and chassis. The D13 six-cylinder is considered robust, but the AdBlue dosing system and turbocharger should be checked for fault codes. On the heavy multi-axle chassis, the condition of the trailing and lift axles is an additional check point. Parts supply through the Volvo dealer network remains consistently good for the FH series.
