The register lists here 5 versions with outputs from 234 to 235 kW from the 9,600 cm³ six-cylinder, unladen weights from 8,350 to 12,150 kg, gross weights from 22,500 to 26,000 kg, lengths from 6,750 to 10,000 mm and widths from 2,480 to 2,600 mm.

With the 6X2 axle configuration, the F10 achieved a higher gross weight than two-axle chassis with similar power, making it a sought-after chassis for long-haul and distribution transport as well as tipper and concrete-mixer bodies. It competed with Scania's first series and MAN's comparable weight class, and the multi-speed manual gearbox allowed a ratio suited to both full loads and trailer work.

When buying a used F10-6X2, key checks include the condition of the non-driven third axle with its steering or lift mechanism, the clutch and gearbox, and frame corrosion at the body mounting points and around the leaf springs. Parts for the 10-litre six-cylinder remain well available through Volvo Trucks and the open commercial-vehicle parts trade, including for older examples still in daily use.
