Setra – the brand name stands for self-supporting construction (Selbsttragend) – traces back to Kässbohrer Fahrzeugwerke in Ulm, which built Germany's first self-supporting coach with the S 8 in 1951; since 1995 the brand has belonged to Daimler's EvoBus group. In the model names, HD stands for high-decker, DT for double-decker such as the S 228 DT and the S 328 DT, and UL for the lower-built underfloor coach such as the S 315 UL.
