Engines of this power and displacement class were used in the first half of the 20th century chiefly in the smallest tractors, motor hoes and similar hand-guided or single-axle implements, with which smaller plots could be worked without needing a full-size, heavier farm tractor.
On such a small machine, the condition and compression of the single cylinder, the state of the carburettor and ignition, on Franz also the correct mixture ratio of the two-stroke fuel, and the condition of the drive belt or chain and corrosion on the sheet-metal body matter most; parts for such small engines of this age can usually only be sourced through collectors and specialists.
