The Laser range was developed on the shared technical platform of the three SDF brands SAME, Lamborghini and Hürlimann (SLH) and was sold in parallel under all three names during the 1980s and 1990s. The model designations 110, 130 and 150 rank the range by power class, and the DT suffix stands for Doppia Trazione, four-wheel drive; all three versions in the register are four-wheel-drive models.

In this power class the Laser models handled heavy field work such as deep ploughing and driving large implements, competing with the standard tractors of Fiat, Deutz-Fahr and Ford; the shared platform of the three brands cut development costs and gave largely identical engineering under different badges.
When buying used, condition of the six-cylinder diesel including cooling and injection, the transmission and four-wheel drive under load, and the hydraulics and lift all matter; since the engineering is identical across the three brands, spare parts can often be sourced through any of the three SDF dealer networks.
