The six-cylinder engine of 2,993 cm³ is comparatively small for a vehicle of this weight. Combined with a top speed of 110 km/h, unusually high for a fire truck, this points to a modern drive concept in which the combustion engine does not handle propulsion on its own. At a length of 7,600 mm, a width of 2,350 mm and a wheelbase of 4,100 mm on four wheels, a payload of around 5,740 kg remains against the 11,260 kg kerb weight for the body, tank and equipment.

Fire trucks in this weight class must carry a pump, a water or foam tank and a fixed load of equipment on top of their own weight, which markedly reduces the share of free payload compared with a plain haulage vehicle. The high top speed is a design goal in its own right for reaching incidents on open roads.

When buying a used example, the inspection history of the pump and tank, the condition of the electrical and hydraulic body systems, and the service records of the drivetrain all matter. Given the special drive technology, an inspection by a workshop specialising in this type of vehicle is a basic requirement before purchase.
