The TS series formed the heavy field-tractor class in the 1990s New Holland Geotech generation, above the utility TL series, relying on four- or six-cylinder engines depending on type. The four types TS 90, TS 100, TS 110 and TS 115 state the power step directly in the type number, and the DT suffix denotes the four-wheel-drive version on the smaller types.

The TS series was aimed at larger arable farms with high demand for pulling power in heavy tillage, sitting at the upper end of the New Holland range of these years in competition with the large Case IH Magnum and Deutz-Fahr Agrostar series. Distribution ran through the existing Ford and New Holland dealer network, which was gradually converted to the new brand identity during this transitional period.
On a used purchase, check operating hours and the engine's service history, the condition of the clutch and gearbox, and the tightness of the hydraulics; on DT four-wheel-drive versions also the front-axle drive and joints, with parts running through the New Holland network.
