The Geotech 60 series groups field tractors of the 8160, 8260, 8360 A and 8560 A types, whose register name dates from New Holland's merger era in the 1990s, when Ford New Holland and Fiatagri combined into today's New Holland group. All four models carry the same six-cylinder diesel engine with 7.5 litres of displacement, with the rising type number from 8160 to 8560 denoting the power step within the series.

The register lists 4 versions with 73.5 to 117.7 kW from the shared six-cylinder with 7,478 cm³ displacement. Unladen weights range from 5,250 to 6,185 kg, lengths from 4,560 to 4,690 mm, widths from 2,310 to 2,420 mm, and heights from 2,800 to 2,890 mm; torque lies between 403 and 652 Nm at rated speeds of 2,200 to 2,300 rpm.
As a series for farms with medium to high draft-power needs, the Geotech 60 range targeted mixed arable farms, competing with comparable series from John Deere, Case IH and Massey Ferguson of the same era. It is used mainly for tillage, sowing, transport work and powering trailed harvesting machinery.
When buying used, the operating hours on the six-cylinder, the condition of the lift hydraulics and PTO, the tightness of turbocharger and cooling system, and wear on the front axle and tyres all matter. Spare parts run through the New Holland dealer network. It is also worth checking the on-board electronics, cab mounting and seat suspension, and tyre tread depth.
